What are the main differences between a superheater and a reheater?
A superheater raises the steam temperature above the saturation temperature, increasing the enthalpy value of the steam to provide energy for subsequent work. A reheater, on the other hand, reheats the steam after it has partially expanded and done work. It removes moisture from the steam and further increases the steam temperature to improve thermal efficiency. The outlet temperature of a reheater is slightly lower than that of a superheater, and its pressure is 20% - 25% less than that of a superheater, so it can use alloy materials of slightly lower quality.
