Steam distribution headers are fabricated out of carbon steel or alloy steel seamless tubes. Customised or tailor made items are offered. Headers, after fabrication, are stress relieved to make the Steam distribution headers free from stresses.They are big pipe headers that transfer water from the downcomers to the risers through a combustion zone where the water gets partially heated to steam from the heat of fuel combustion.
The key to the manufacture of the header is the welding of the end cap (or head). When welding, most manufacturers use manual arc welding, because the weld is single-sided welding, the root quality is difficult to guarantee, and because of the huge of welding work, number of repairing times, the production cycle is long which cause the entire production process slow. Our company adopt the advanced production technology, well-equipped instrument and sophisticated technology, and invented a submerged arc welding method during the header and cover welding. Operation
In bringing a boiler on the line with other boilers on a header system,certain precautionss are necessary to avoid water hammer and excessive temperature gradients in the piping.Adequate drainage and warming of the piping will eliminate the risk of water hammer.The judicious use of bypass valves around main header valves will avoid steep temperature gradients.Header drains should be operated.The steam line from the boiler to the header should be brought up to temperature by operationg bypass and drain valves.When up to temperature and line pressure,the header valve may be opened wide and the bypass closed.
